Yesterday was a sad day here at www.deglazing.com, our dear friend the KitchenAid Stand Mixer mixed it’s last batch of cookies. After 6 years of faithful service to my kitchen the mixer’s motor gave out. It was my first real piece of kitchen equipment and thus I only thought it fair that it got a full mention on the site. I can’t say how many batches of cookies, pizza doughs, or quick breads this little mixer made in it’s lifetime, but it was quite a few. I was deeply saddened when the beater would no longer turn. I knew it was getting close to the end, the motor whirred and bowl was slightly off center, but I hoped I would get one more year with it. Sadly, it stopped mixing yesterday evening around 4:30, during the dinner rush. This little mixer was a great tool and I will definitely miss it in my kitchen. So today’s posts are devoted to my friend, my KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

Oh Nicky! How awful! That kind of mixer is just incredible. After you mourn, however, you’ll have a good reason to buy a new one. I keep leering at them in the store, then I feel guilty for being disloyal to mine…..

Thank you for your codolences. It’s funny how attached I was to my mixer. I am in the process of figuring out what kind of mixer I will get next. I am keeping an eye out at Home Goods, but I don’t know how long I can live without one.(I am pretty sure it won’t be very long at all.) I will, of course, put up a post with photos of the new one.(For leering
)
Best,
Nicky
