Eat Cake, Support a Good Cause

Okay, so you can’t cook, but you really want a cake for an upcoming party you are having.  No worries, check out Rubicon Bakery on the web.  Rubicon Bakery is part of Rubicon Programs Inc., a non-profit that helps people in the San Francisco Bay area.  This company provides training, jobs, and housing assistant to homeless people, people recovering from addiction, and those with mental disabilities.  The bakery has been running for 10 years, makes everything from scratch, and now ships around the country.  If you live in the Bay area, then you can find Rubicon products in many local stores.  For those of us not living in the Bay area, you can order online or visit such retailers as Williams Sonoma and Whole Foods.  Rubicon ships its cakes via 2 day delivery or overnight service to ensure freshness.  The cakes are shipped frozen on dry ice.  They sell four kinds of cake and three types of marshmallows.  One of the cakes with shipping to Maine, will cost about $50.00, but that’s a small price to pay to know you are making a difference.
