Pastini Pastaria - Restaurant Review

Filed under: Restaurant Review — Nicky @ 9:15 am

My husband and I lived one year in the Portland, Oregon area.  While living there we tried Pastini Pastaria.  People are probably rolling their eyes as I type because one of their locations is in a mall (Bridgeport Village in Tigard).  But hear me out… First, Bridgeport Village is a pretty interesting little mall area.  It is beautifully designed and has one of my favorite stores - Crate and Barrel (and this one is huge!).  My husband and I loved just strolling around the mall area, catching a movie (they have a great cinema), and getting a bite to eat on the weekends.

Pastini Pastaria is very nicely decorated with outdoor seating in the summers.  The menu is pretty large with a big vegetarian section.  The prices can’t be beat and do not change from lunch to dinner.  Even though I am a foodie I do not drink wine, although their wine list is pretty extensive.  One of their best dishes is Rigatoni Zuccati.  This dish has butternut squash, spinach, and wild mushrooms in light cream sauce over rigatoni pasta.  The fresh herbs they use really inhance the flavor of the squash.  It’s a really great dish, if you love squash like me.  I also highly recommend their Parmigiana Bread - a parmesan cheese topped loaf of toasted cabiata bread with a little layer of butter.  It is delicious and super inexpensive at $2.95.  Their spaghetti marinara is excellent, as is their version of the classic, fettucine alfredo.

The wait staff is excellent and the wait is usually not too long, unless it’s the height of the summer season.  If you want a quick and tasty pasta meal then I highly recommend you check out Pastini Pastaria.

Vegetarian Options: Yes

Price:  $3 - $10 - ranging from appetizer to seafood dishes
